Pass the Word — Last updated: 1 June 2026
The short version
Pass the Word does not ask you to create an account and does not collect your name, email, contacts, location, or photos. The only data involved is what is needed to process in‑app purchases, which is handled by Apple and our purchase provider, RevenueCat.
Information we collect
We do not collect personal information directly. The app has no login, no sign‑up, and no profile.
In‑app purchases. When you buy a word pack, the purchase is processed by Apple's App Store. We use RevenueCat to verify and manage purchases. To do this, RevenueCat receives:
- A random, app‑generated identifier (not linked to your name).
- Details of the products you have purchased and your transaction/receipt data.
- Basic device and app information (such as device model, operating system version, country, and app version).
This information is used only to deliver the content you paid for, to restore your purchases when you reinstall the app or change device, and to keep our purchase records accurate. RevenueCat processes this on our behalf. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
On‑device data. Your settings and a record of which packs you own are stored on your device so the app works offline. This stays on your device.
What we do not do
- We do not show ads.
- We do not use third-party analytics or tracking.
- We do not sell or share your information.
- We do not collect data to track you across other apps or websites.
Payments
All payments are handled by Apple. We never see or store your card details. Refunds are handled by Apple in line with App Store policy.
Children
Pass the Word is suitable for a general audience and is designed for family play. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices and rights
Because we do not hold personal information that identifies you, there is no personal account to access or delete. You can:
- Restore or review purchases via the App Store.
- Request deletion of any purchase records we hold by emailing us (see below).
Depending on where you live (for example the UK or EU under UK GDPR / GDPR, or California under the CCPA), you may have rights over your data. Contact us and we will help.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
